The delights of Northumberland, its castles, coast and countryside are all within easy reach. And the main A1 arterial route is just a few minutes’ drive away giving easy Access North to Berwick Upon Tweed and Edinburgh and South to Alnwick, Morpeth and Newcastle Upon Tyne.

St James Close hugs the Eastern edge of the village with its private cul de sac with rural views and easy access to the coastal villages of Alnmouth, Warkworth and Amble to the South East and Beadnell, Seahouses and Bamburgh to the North East.

Alnwick also has all the usual support services on offer, healthcare, doctors, clinics and dentists, as well as a great selection of attractive boutiques and gift shops and the famous traditional market days in the town centre.

For a serious shopping trip, the market town of Morpeth is only 20 minutes’ South with the city of Newcastle upon Tyne and the Metro Centre in Gateshead both less than 40 minutes’ drive South. Scotland’s capital, Edinburgh, can be reached in under 2 hours too.

The great outdoors is on your doorstep, whether your preference is for hills, forest or coast, all are just a short drive away. The Northumberland National Park plus Kielder Water and it’s ‘Dark Skies’ park are also within easy reach!

With trails and adventure in the National Park for walkers, climbers and cyclists of every ability, and a range of water sports available at Kielder & on the heritage coastline, Northumberland is the most beautiful county to visit. The historical links golf courses of Alnmouth Village Golf Club (dating from 1869, England’s oldest 9 hole links golf course) and the splendour of nearby Alnmouth Golf Club at Foxton Hall, the 4th oldest club in England, are just minutes away.

GETTING THERE

South Charlton is directly accessed from the A1, with exit access Northbound and Southbound.

On leaving the A1 you’ll reach St James’ Close in under 5 minutes along picturesque, hedged country lanes.

Travelling Southbound, after passing North Charlton and shortly after leaving the dual carriageway, look out for signposts to the right towards South Charlton. On leaving the A1, take an immediate right and simply follow the country lane to reach St James’ Close.

Heading North, once you’ve left the dual carriage way passing Alnwick travel for a further 2.5miles. Take the signposted exit left to South Charlton. On leaving the A1, take an immediate right and simply follow the country lane to reach St James’ Close.
