The village is well-served with all the amenities you immediately need. There’s a friendly village shop for all life’s necessities, a newsagents and the renowned ‘Greens the Butchers’ where customers travel far and wide for their produce.
Two traditional inns, grace the High St, the aptly named Village Inn and The Granby Inn serving as community pubs but also with rooms and fine dining experiences. Both have tremendous reputations for their traditional menus, locally produced, home cooked food and drinks and give a warm welcome to locals and visitors alike.
We are also very lucky to have a ‘Running Fox’, an artisan bakery with coffee shops dotted around rural Northumberland. From warm pastries in the morning, breakfast, lunch or scrumptious afternoon tea you can enjoy either takeaway or in this charming cafe complete with the prettiest enclosed garden seating area.
