About Us

Northumberland Homes Ltd is a locally owned and managed business specialising in the development and refurbishment of property in Northumberland, Tyneside and Durham.

Residential homes form the core of Northumberland’s developments ranging from smaller 3 to 5 unit sites to larger 50+ unit developments with individual homes varying between 1, 2 and 3 bedroom apartments to bungalows, semi-detached and detached houses from 2 to 5 bedrooms in size. A small number of commercial units sometimes form part of an overall mixed use development.

The company is operated by the three directors, all living in Northumberland, who together have over 90 years of knowledge and experience in residential and commercial development.

The Old Registry

The Old Registry in Morpeth is a mixed development of contemporary town centre bungalows combined with roomy, characterful apartments in a fully restored and refitted grade 2 listed building located at the heart of the town centre and yet retaining a peaceful ‘off-street’ location.

Elements of the main building can be traced back to the mid 18th Century and has, since the 1750’s, been used as the dwelling house of local Merchants including (between 1821-1896) well known illustrator Joseph Crawhall and was the birthplace of his son (also Joseph) who later became famed as a technically brilliant water-colourist of animals and birds.

Since the turn of the 20th Century the site has been used as Morpeth Grammar School for Girls (early 1900’s to around 1973) and then various municipal buildings for Northumberland County Council including, of course, The Morpeth Registry Office.

Whitefield Farm

Situated only 4 miles south of the popular town of Amble the rural setting of Whitefield Farm enjoys expansive views over open countryside with the Pennines and ‘Cheviot’ able to be observed on all but the poorest visibility days.

With Druridge Bay and its beautiful beach only 90 seconds away by car this location is bound to be popular. The 2 large barns and 2 substantial houses being developed by Northumberland Homes are sympathetic additions to a well established series of 9 farm cottages and barns and are all located near to the historic Whitefield House of Whitefield Farm and pleasingly, nowhere near to any larger ‘estate’ type developments.
